9 Kilos of Cocaine Found in Beaumont Traffic Stop: Police

Police credit the department's K9 with helping find the drugs.

BEAUMONT, CA – A recent Beaumont traffic stop ending in a sizable drug seizure after nine kilos were found in a vehicle, police report. K9 Mila is being credited with the discovery of approximately 20 pounds of illegal narcotics.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, officers made a traffic stop in the area of Beaumont Avenue at Interstate 10 on Friday.

"During the stop K9 Mila made a positive alert on the vehicle and located nine (9) Kilos of cocaine," Police reported.

Officials tell Patch that the drugs were found in the vehicle's trunk.

The driver, 32-year-old Raudel Gil Ochoa, was booked into the Banning jail on a felony charge of transporting a controlled substance, jail records indicated. Bail was set at $500,000, and Ochoa posted bond on Saturday.
