If I had a Beaumont City checkbook.....
A YEAR IN REVIEW
You will have to bear with me on this, because the year in review will be the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year Ending June 30 2012. You may ask why and it is a very valid question. Its the one we can review because its the one the books have been closed..sort of. Beaumont feels no urgency to to meet ANY commonly accepted accounting practices for Public scrutiny. So here are some of the Highlights (or Lowlights) from that year.

- a* this would be our former "contract employee/City Manager" maximizing profit for his privately held GGMS Corporation just days before accepting City Employee status
- b* ....no comment
- c* ..Walk like an Egyptian
- d*...doesnt everyone have New Years Party @ the end of their fiscal yr?
- e* ..and then give the Finance Director a couple grand to make it memorable??
- f* ..a very interesting protocol of take $$ from out of compliance medical marijauna shop (reportedly $1k per day) and turn it over to Customs (..for code violations..) when Operator files suit!!
- g* Real favorite of mine that Ive mentioned repeatedly in past blogs. Here is the near $40K perk handed to City Manager upon hiring (06-21-2011) that was in contract...5 YEARS OF SERVICE credits with CALPERS that WE bought for him. Incidently watch the the City finacial contribution go up exponentially to position.
