RECHE CANYON, CA — A wild donkey was injured Monday after being struck by a vehicle in the roadway, the California Highway Patrol dispatch officers shared.
At 9:15 a.m., a gray Kia SUV collided with the donkey. The vehicle was rendered undriveable, and the donkey was badly injured, according to witnesses from the scene.
As of 10 a.m., both the California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Animal Control officers and tow truck operators were on their way to assist within the hour.
No other information was immediately available. Drivers in the area should be advised of the emergency activity.
