ID Released On Driver Killed In Cabazon Crash

CABAZON, CA — A 48-year-old man has been killed in a rollover crash in Cabazon, authorities said.

Yazen Akroush of Rancho Cucamonga was driving a 2026 Mercedes G-550 at an unknown speed on eastbound Interstate 10 east of Morongo Trail at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Akroush veered to the right and off the roadway for unknown reasons, which caused the Mercedes to become airborne before crashing into an open dirt field, rolling over multiple times, the agency said.

The vehicle sustained major damage and the driver was trapped inside. According to the Riverside County Coroner's office, Akroush was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
