BANNING, CA — Batten down your throw pillows and patio furniture. The National Weather Service has announced an updated wind advisory that begins Saturday through Sunday for the San Gorgonio Pass Area, near Banning.
The wind advisory goes into effect at 2 p.m. Saturday through 11 p.m. Sunday.
Residents should expect gusts of 65 mph, with sustained west winds of 30 to 40 mps, meteorologists predicted. The "Take Action" wind advisory will include sustained, strong winds and even stronger gusts.
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” the NWS said. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”

Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
Sunday Night
Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 25 mph becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
Monday
Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 80.
