BEAUMONT, CA — The eastbound I-10 freeway at the Beaumont Avenue offramp was temporarily shut down Sunday due to a man threatening to jump from a bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Just after 1 p.m., officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a man attempting to jump onto the eastbound lanes near the Beaumont Avenue off-ramp, authorities said.
The man did jump and was rushed to the hospital in unknown condition, officials said.
Multiple motorists in the area exited their vehicles, in an attempt to offer assistance, "but the man told them to step back," according to CHP dispatch reports.
He was rushed to a hospital in unknown condition. No other information was immediately available.
