He was charged on Wednesday with first-degree murder and a special circumstance allegation of lying in wait, and sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations.

The defendant, who is being held without bail at the Robert Presley Jail, was slated to make his initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon at the Riverside Hall of Justice.

On July 26, 2024, deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 24000 block of Fawn Street in Moreno Valley and found 32-year-old Scott Leflore suffering from a possible gunshot wound. Leflore was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, authorities said.

Details about what led up to the fatal attack remain limited as investigators continue following investigative leads into the alleged homicide.

Anyone with information regarding the case was asked to call Central Homicide Unit investigators Adams or Denham at 951-955-2777. Moreno Valley Station Investigator Morales can be reached at 951-486-6700.
