Bone Found In Highland Confirmed As Human Arm, DNA Results Pending

HIGHLAND, CA — A human arm bone was found in Highland last week, and investigators are working to identify the victim.

The bone, an adult-sized humerus, was discovered around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday during a site survey at Greenspot and Alta Vista roads, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The area is the site of a planned residential development, state environmental documents show.

A forensic examination of the bone is underway and investigators are awaiting additional information pending DNA results, according to the sheriff's department.

That information could lead to the victim's identity.

After the bone was discovered, a search of the area was conducted. Details about additional evidence or remains found at the site, if any, were not released by the sheriff's department.
