BEAUMONT, CA — Before California’s polling places officially closed at 8 p.m., 190 seniors from
The Beaumont Unified School District’s three alternative high schools: 21st Century Learning Institute, Beaumont Middle College High School, and Glen View High School. All students tossed their graduation caps into the air on Tuesday at the center of the athletic field.

Graduating senior Kate Hernandez from the 21st Century Learning Institute served as the master of ceremonies, and Beaumont USD Board President Jeff Brown formally accepted the 2026 graduating class during the event.

Each of the three alternative high schools offers a unique instructional approach, such as online
learning, access to college courses, and credit recovery. Additionally, the campuses are
significantly smaller than a traditional high school, allowing students to receive more personalized instruction.

"As proof of the program's success, six graduates from both Beaumont Middle College High School
School and the 21st Century Learning Institute received at least one Associate of Arts degree in
addition to their diploma," said Thomas Guzowski,
Public Communications Officer for the Beaumont Unified School District.

An additional four graduates completed the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC). This achievement means the students satisfy most first-year and sophomore-level general education requirements for a University of California school.

Principal Dr. Benisha Carr, who oversees all three schools, acknowledged the students' hard
work and dedication over the four years in her commencement speech. “Class of 2026, as you
take your next steps, remember to go first, believe, belong, and achieve. Set ambitious goals, lift
others up, and step into your future with absolute confidence,” she remarked in her closing.
