BEAUMONT, CA — Two lanes of the westbound State Route 60, starting at the Interstate 10 connector, reopened, while the truck lane remained closed Tuesday, according to Caltrans and California Highway Patrol.

As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, CHP reports that the road is open, but traffic is slow and heavy due to the fire, from .7 miles east of Moreno Valley at Gilman Springs Road to the junction of I-10 in Beaumont.

Road signs indicate that drivers should expect delays when traveling through that three-mile section of SR-60.

The Shore Fire broke out Monday afternoon near San Timoteo Canyon Road, west of Fisherman's Retreat, in the unincorporated area of El Casco.

Drivers should pack their patience when heading through the area and seek alternate routes.
