City officials asked the community to review the draft application and share their feedback within 30 days.

BEAUMONT, CA — The City of Beaumont released its draft application on Wednesday for the state's Prohousing Designation Program, which provides resources for cities that support affordable housing.

The Prohousing Designation Program recognizes and supports cities and communities that help spur housing production. Jurisdictions with a prohousing designation are eligible to receive priority processing or funding points when applying for programs such as Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities, the Infill Infrastructure Grant, Transformative Climate Communities, and more, according to the Department of Housing and Community Development.

Jurisdictions with the prohousing designation are also eligible to apply for the Prohousing Incentive Program, which provides local governments with additional funding to boost and preserve affordable housing.

City officials asked the community to review the draft application and share their feedback by Aug. 7.
