BEAUMONT, CA — The City of Beaumont's Public Works crew are installing multiple safety upgrades near Sundance Elementary School, officials announced on Wednesday.
The construction work includes a new four-way stop, crosswalks, and accessible curb ramps at 8th Street and the parking lot driveway on the eastern end of the school, according to the City of Beaumont.
The upgrades are "designed to make walking to school safer and easier for students and families," the city said.
When the work is complete, the city's Public Works team will monitor the area "to ensure safety and consider potential enhancements in the near future," the city said.
City officials did not say when the construction is expected to be completed.
