• Possible homicide in Banning under investigation by CHP (sbsun.com) — A man with apparent stab wounds was found gravely injured Saturday along Highway 243 near Smith Creek Bridge in Banning and later died at a Palm Springs hospital, prompting a California Highway Patrol homicide investigation. Investigators are still determining where the attack occurred and are asking anyone who may have seen anything along that stretch of road to contact the CHP's Major Crimes Unit.
