LOS ANGELES — Metrolink implemented its first fare adjustments in 13 years on Monday, raising prices for single-ride tickets and day passes while holding the line on select regional options.

The commuter rail agency announced that One-Way Tickets are seeing an approximate 14% increase, varying by distance. The Weekday SoCal Day Pass has increased from $15 to $19, while the Weekend and Holiday SoCal Day Pass rose from $10 to $12.

Prices for Monthly Passes and 5-Day Flex Passes vary by distance, resulting in slight increases, no changes, or lower prices for some riders depending on their route, as these passes are calculated using One-Way Ticket fares.

Riverside County has nearly a dozen Metrolink stations. See a map here.

Metrolink officials said the decision was not made lightly. The regional rail provider attributed the adjustments to rising operating and maintenance costs, lower post-pandemic ridership levels, and declining state and federal funding.

October Monthly Passes reflecting the updated pricing went on sale starting Sept. 25.

Despite the broader increases, the LA Zone Day Pass remains unchanged at $5 regardless of trip distance. Metrolink's everyday discount programs also remain available, including the 50% Student and Youth Discount, alongside free transfers to connecting local transit services.
