BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont residents can dispose of unwanted items and pick up free mulch during the city's biannual Community Cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 24, the city announced on Wednesday.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon in the open lot across from Mountain View Middle School, offering free disposal and recycling services for a variety of household materials, the city said.
The cleanup is intended to give residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of unwanted items and recycle materials that might otherwise end up in landfills.
Accepted items include appliances, documents for shredding, scrap metal, unbagged green waste, bulky items, bottles and cans, electronic waste and other materials.
Free mulch also will be available. Residents collecting mulch were advised to bring appropriate equipment and protective gear.
Proof of residency is required to participate, and residents must bring a photo identification card or a Beaumont utility bill, the city said.
