Murder Investigators Called to Scene of I-10 'Crash' Site: Sheriff's Office

Officials say a 'suspicious death' investigation has been launched at the site of what was first thought to be a crash off Interstate 10.

CABAZON, CA - Sheriff's murder investigators are on scene in the Cabazon area Thursday at the site of a "suspicious death," officials tell Patch.

According to Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Armando Munoz, the California Highway Patrol requested the assistance of the sheriff's department shortly after arriving at a reported crash site around 2 a.m.

Original reports indicated a car may have veered off the eastbound 10, near the Banning scales.

"Our central homicide unit is out there conducting a death investigation," Munoz told Patch at 10 a.m.
