Banning Crash Injures Seven

Seven people were injured in a crash on the westbound 10 Freeway east of Highland Springs Avenue Saturday night.

BANNING, CA — Seven people were injured after a Jeep veered off the 10 Freeway in Banning Saturday night. The vehicle had flipped on its roof and was about 40 feet from the freeway when police arrived.

The crash was reported around 11 p.m. along the westbound 10 Freeway east of Highland Springs Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses told police that the Jeep went off the right shoulder and into the bushes. Officers later reported finding the vehicle on its roof, 40 feet away from the road. The vehicle was also reportedly on one person's head.

Firefighters used hydraulic tools to get one person out of the vehicle, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Four people were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries while three had minor injuries, fire officials said.
