Banning Gunshot Victim Hospitalized, Numerous Shots Heard: Cops

Late Wednesday, gunshots were heard near Preferred Lane and Fashion Way in the city of Banning, police say. One victim was found.

BANNING, CA — One person was shot late Wednesday in Banning after numerous gunshots were heard, according to police.

Just after 10 p.m., a 911 caller reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area of Preferred Lane and Fashion Way. Arriving officers found the gunshot victim, 19, at the scene.

Medics stabilized and then took him to a nearby hospital by ambulance for further treatment. His current condition has not been released.

"Officers located and collected evidence at the scene of the shooting," according to Banning Police in a prepared statement.

This shooting remains under investigation, and no other information was immediately available.
