Banning High senior becomes an `Aggie’ and tours UC Davis

Banning High School senior Sara Chanthachak, an Upward Bound OASIS student, got a close-up look at the college life that she’ll be enjoying in the Fall semester at UC Davis.

After her recent acceptance, Chanthachak took part in an all-expense paid “Aggie Senior Weekend” to UC Davis on April 5-7. She was the only Upward Bound OASIS student selected for the “Aggie Senior Weekend,” according to UCR Director Rudy Curiel.

`Aggie’ is the name given to UC Davis sports teams.

Upward Bound OASIS is a federally-funded program and a partnership between the University of California, Riverside, and Banning High School that helps students pursue their dreams of a college education.

UC Davis is situated on a 5,300-acre campus in the city of Davis, which is located about 20 minutes from Sacramento. UC Davis has about 35,000 students and offers more than 100 different majors and graduate programs.
