Banning's Police Chief, City Manager Resigns Abruptly: Report
Little information is known about why.

BANNING, CA — Banning's police chief and interim city manager submitted his resignation on Tuesday, the Record Gazette reports. Alex Diaz let the city know during a closed session of council.
The newspaper reports that Diaz's departure was not expected and that he'll remain in his role as police chief through April 6. His time has city manager ended immediately. By Wednesday morning, the "city manager" section of the city's website had been removed.
Little information is known as to why Diaz is leaving, and Patch has reached out to the city for more information.
