Beaumont Bike Rider Found With Loaded, Unregistered Gun: Police

BEAUMONT, CA — A bicycle rider found in Beaumont with an unregistered loaded gun in his backpack remained behind bars Monday.

Cody Franklin Stamper, 31, of Beaumont was arrested Friday around 4:18 p.m. in the area of Orange Street and 8th Street. He had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest, and a search of his backpack by law enforcement uncovered the loaded 9mm handgun, according to the sheriff's department.

Stamper was being held on $25,000 bail at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning and is due to appear in court Tuesday, jail records showed.
