Beaumont Brush Fire Fully Contained

BEAUMONT, CA — Firefighters have a line of cleared vegetation encircling a 168-acre brush fire Monday near a landfill south of Beaumont, authorities said.

The blaze was reported at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Canyon and Dump roads, said Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department. It was fully contained at 2:23 p.m. Sunday.

About 85 firefighters were assigned to the fire, and three helicopters and four air tankers made air drops, Cabral said.

There was no indication any structures were threatened.
