Beaumont Celebrates 'Gimmicks & Gadgets' 2nd Place Winner

BEAUMONT, CA — The city of Beaumont recently celebrated a local inventor who placed second in the California Water Environment Association Gimmicks and Gadgets competition.

This year, once again, the CWEA asked for innovative, low-cost tools developed by wastewater professionals. Each tool is designed to enhance safety and efficiency in wastewater treatment and collection.

The award recognizes innovation and creativity in developing solutions for routine tasks or functions in the maintenance, operations, or construction of wastewater collection systems, according to the website.

Beaumont's Carlos Napoles won second place in the competition for his creation of a device that attaches a light to the Vactor Truck's vacuum tube, the City of Beaumont shared.

"This helps to increase the efficiency and visibility inside manholes," they said.
