“Behaviorally challenged students really appreciate the time someone takes to focus on them, even if it’s only for five minutes,” she said. “Working with group home children has been especially rewarding. They are coming from a very difficult situation and need a lot of our support. There are so many examples but just the smallest act of thoughtfulness will go a long way with foster youth, such as providing them with a personalized item they will often cherish, as they do not have many items that belong to them.”
Beitler is cited for playing a key role in the success of the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support at her schools.

Beitler has been with Beaumont for 10 years and started her career with the District as a teacher at Brookside Elementary. She was then promoted to assistant principal for Brookside, Three Rings and Tournament Hills elementary schools simultaneously, where she gained her ‘student-first’ focus.
She attributes her success to the confidence and support provided to her by Beaumont USD.
“I have had great support to evolve as a leader,” said Beitler. “They have allowed me to reach my goals and place the emphasis on the students.”
Beitler is best known for using school data to create positive behavior programs to create change and improvements.
“We are very proud of Callie’s work in the District and are thrilled to see that her work is recognized by this distinguished California professional organization. She genuinely cares for students and is an example of what all of us aspire to be in the Beaumont District,” said Dr. Maureen Latham, Superintendent of Beaumont Schools.
The award was presented at the ACSA’s 2014 Leadership Summit held in San Diego on November 7, 2014.
