BEAUMONT, CA — Fire officials are working to determine what sparked a fire at a Beaumont home on Monday that caused an estimated $100,000 in damages. The fire was reported around 11:22 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of East 12th Street.
According to April Newman with the Riverside County Fire Department, 16 firefighters responded to the scene.

Crews managed to contain the fire to that garage, saving an estimated $500,000 in property, according to Newman. Though the blaze was contained by 11:45 p.m., firefighters remained at the scene for about two hours to make sure everything was fully extinguished.
