Beaumont Fire Spreads to 170 Acres, Sending Smoke Through Pass
BREAKING: The fire was approximately 170 acres in size as of 6:45 p.m.

BEAUMONT, CA -- A brush fire is burning in the Lambs Canyon area Saturday afternoon, sending a layer of smoke across the region. As of 5:30 p.m., it was 100 acres in size, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The Hills Incident was first reported at 4:30 p.m. along SR-79 at Dump Road. So fare, 85 firefighters have been assigned to the blaze, along with 3 helicopters, 4 air tankers and a water tender.
As of 6 PM, SR 79 through lambs Canyon remained open to traffic.

At 6:45 p.m., fire officials reported that the forward progression of the fire was stopped at 170 acres.
