Beaumont Football Game At Cathedral City On Time at 7 p.m.; Power Outages No Factor

The 7 p.m. game in the desert will be played at 69250 Dinah Shore Drive in Cathedral City, Beaumont officials said.

A major power outage that struck much of the Coachella Valley on Thursday will have no affect on Beaumont High's football game Friday night at Cathedral City High School, athletics officials said.

According to the Cathedral City High athletics department, the school and the city was not affected by Thursday evening's power outages that hit a number of cities in the area.

The non-league game is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff at 69250 Dinah Shore Drive in Cathedral City.

The blackout Thursday affected 150,000 Imperial Irrigation District customers in Palm Desert, Indio, Bermuda Dunes, La Quinta, Sun City-Palm Desert, Mecca, North Shore and Thousand Palms.

Most power in the Coachella Valley was restored by midnight.

Cathedral City is served by Southern California Edison, which was not affected.
