
Beaumont High School’s athletic program was well represented at the CIF 26th annual Team Academic Awards.
Beaumont’s girl’s swim and track teams led the way. The swim team settled for runner-up honors with a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.692. The top team was San Marcos (3.813 GPA).
Beaumont’s girl’s track (3.520 GPA) and water polo (3.579 GPA) teams settled for seventh place finishes.

Athletes Ty Hopp and Lindsay Ritchie were selected by the school as its Scholar Athletes. Hopp (3.68 GPA) was the Mountain Pass League’s Defensive MVP in boys soccer where he helped the Cougars win a league title and reach the team’s first CIF semifinal. Hopp was also a CIF Div. 6 2nd team selection.
Ritchie (3.60 GP) helped the Cougar’s volleyball team win two of its last three games to secure a third place finish and a trip to the playoffs. Ritiche won Player of the Week honors five times during the season.

All top finishers will be recognized prior to the Angels game on May 9 at Angels Stadium.
