Under the ordinance, electric bicycles are prohibited in city parks. Sidewalk riding is subject to specific speed limits and safety requirements, and riders are encouraged to use designated bike lanes when available.
The city also warned residents that high-powered electric motorcycles, including models such as Sur-Ron and E Ride Pro, do not qualify as electric bicycles under California law. Those vehicles are subject to applicable licensing and registration requirements.
