'Suspicious' Beaumont Fire Breaks Out In Home: VIDEO
The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. Friday.
BEAUMONT, CA — Fire and police officials were working Friday night to determine the cause of a house fire in Beaumont. The blaze was reported at 5:08 p.m. on Maple Avenue, between 1st and 3rd streets, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Smoke could be seeing billowing from the top of the roof, as firefighters worked to make entrance into the home. Officials on scene said the call initially came in with "victims trapped," however nobody was found inside.
"The fire does seem to be suspicious," Battalion Chief John Cortez told Patch at the scene. "We are going to continue to investigate."
