Beaumont Lineman Makes All-CIF Team

Lineman Anthony Gordon has capped off a stellar career at Beaumont High School with his selection to the All-CIF Eastern Division team for the second consecutive year.

Gordon (6-2, 275) led the Cougars defensively with 15 sacks and 12 tackles for losses. A three-year starter, Gordon played both ways and was selected as the teams’ Most Valuable Player at the end of the season.

The Cougars were 7-4 overall, losing a tough game to Granite Hills in the first round of the CIF playoffs.

“He played both ways and was our team MVP, which is quite an honor because that usually goes to a skill player,” Cougars head football coach Paul Lopez said. “He had a great career here at Beaumont.”

Gordon also played in the Riverside County vs. San Bernardino County All-Star Game in December at Corona High School. Lopez said he will likely continue his football career at Riverside Community College in the fall.
