Beaumont Man Dies In Single-Car Crash Over The Weekend

The 32-year-old driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, CHP reports.

BEAUMONT, CA —A 32-year-old Beaumont man died in a single-car crash Saturday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported. His identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday, CHP responded to the scene of a solo-vehicle crash on Tamarack Road, west of Rushmore Avenue.

The victim was driving a 2007 Honda Civic on Tamarack Road at the time of the collision, according to CHP Officer Ricardo Palomera.

"Preliminary investigation suggests the male was driving the Honda westbound on Tamarack Road at a high rate of speed, approaching the intersection with Rushmore Avenue," he said. "The driver failed to stop at the intersection and proceeded straight through, where the vehicle overturned several times into the open desert."

The driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

It is currently unknown if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash, according to the report, and the crash remains under investigation.
