Beaumont Police Officer Of The Year Awarded: 2021
Beaumont Police Cpl. Reginald Autrey was awarded the 2021 Police Officer of the Year at the VFW this week.

BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont Police Corporal Reginald Autrey is the city's 2021 Police Officer of the Year, the department announced Wednesday.
He was honored at a ceremony this week by the Desert Edge VFW Post 233.

Autrey has served the Beaumont Police Department for 18 years, according to department spokeswoman Marcedes Cashmer.

He joined the Beaumont Police Department in 2004 and has served as a motor officer, field training officer and now a Corporal.
He began his professional career as a firefighter/EMT for the Marine Corps in Twenty-Nine Palms.

He served as a firefighter for nine years and simultaneously signed up as a Reserve Deputy for the San Bernardino Sheriff Department, she said.
Autrey is the youngest of seven children, three of which have served their communities as first responders, according to Cashmer.
His values have helped him become a true part of the community he serves in Beaumont.
"I've witnessed Cpl. Autrey go to the grocery store to purchase food for a family on hard times," she told Patch.
Though he doesn't talk about the quiet ways he serves his community, his fellow officers have noticed.

"We congratulate Cpl. Autrey on his recognition and are proud of the work he's done over the last 18 years with the Beaumont Police Department."
