Beaumont Softball Players Earn All CIF

Two members of Beaumont High School’s record setting softball team were honored with CIF accolades last week.

Senior third baseman Jayme Tickemyer and junior pitcher Alyssa Fuimaono were All CIF-Southern Section Div. 5 selections.

Fuimaono and Tickemyer helped the Cougars win the Mountain Pass League title and reach the Div. 5 championship game where Beaumont settled for a runner-up plaque.

Tickemyer, off to Sonoma State in the fall, batted .417, scored 27 times, belted out 35 hits, drove in 23 runs and had nine doubles.

Fuimaono, who returns next year for her senior season, finished the season ranked No. 34 in California with 201 strikeouts in a pool of 495 pitchers.

In the Southern Section Fuimaono’s strikeout total landed her at No. 14 and at No. 3 with 24 wins. Fuimaono pitched 24 complete games and recorded 177 innings of work.
