Youth Baseball Tournament of More Than 30 Teams Starts Wednesday at Noble Creek Park in Beaumont

Nearly 40 youth baseball teams from 11 nearby cities will take part in this week’s 9th annual Beaumont Youth Baseball Warm Up Tournament.

Starting today 59 games will be played through the weekend on the five fields at Noble Creek Park. Cities to be represented include Jurupa Hills, Moreno Valley, Orangecrest, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Perris, Redlands, Colton, Warner and host Beaumont.

Players in the six divisions will range from 5 to 14 years of age. Divisions include Shetland (5- and 6-year-olds), Pinto Coach Kid (7-8), Pinto Kid Coach (7-8), Mustang (9-10), Bronco (11-12) and Pony (13-14).

The tournament will follow both a round robin and pool play format, guaranteeing each team at least three games. Team awards will go to the top two finishers and tournament pins will be awarded to each player and coach.

Noble Creek Park has become somewhat of a state of the art facility for such events. It features nine groomed ball fields, a working snack bar and scorekeeper platforms at each field.

Mustang Division, Field 2: Jurupa 10 vs. Moreno Valley 10, 5:30 p.m.; Orangecrest vs. Jurupa 9, 7:30 p.m.. Field 3:Beaumont Blue vs. Colton, 5:30 p.m.; Beaumont Grey vs. Palm Desert, 7: 30 p.m.
