Black Friday Deal Seeker Again Sets Up Camp in Beaumont

She's done it before, and she's back at it! Woman sets up camp weeks ahead of Black Friday at local Best Buy.

Yet again, the deals are not yet released. But yet again, Vickey Torres is outside Beaumont’s Best Buy store weeks in advance hoping to score a good deal on Black Friday.

Some may call her crazy, some may call her a traditionalist.

Torres has been camping out weeks in advance for the busiest shopping day for the past several years, and last year she made international headlines after she secured her front-of-the-line spot 22 days early.

This year, Torres isn’t the first shopper to line up that we know of, but she certainly is one of the earliest. Best Buy workers tell Patch she got to the store on Wednesday— 17 days before Black Friday.

This year, the well-seasoned deal camper has upgraded her camping spot, bringing a tent to the location. It’s a good thing, too, because this weekend, it poured rain at the store.

She’s so committed, apparently, she told Patch she was staying in her tent and had nothing to say on Monday. A mission, will do that to a person.
