Boy, 14, Poses As SoCal Deputy, Makes House Calls: Sheriff's Dept
Sheriff's officials say the young boy, clad in a uniform, was driving an SUV outfitted with lights.

VICTORVILLE, CA ā A teenage boy is under arrest this week, accused of pulling a woman over in a pseudo-law enforcement vehicle and making house calls to "investigate reported domestic disturbances," the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said. The boy is just 14.
On Monday the unidentified teen showed up at two homes in Victorville wearing a San Bernardino County sheriff's uniform ā complete with a firearm in a holster, according to police. He's also accused of conducting a traffic stop the same night.
"He was driving a white Ford Explorer with red and blue emergency lights, mounted on the inside of the front windshield, which were activated," the sheriff's department said in a news release. "The Explorer had no law enforcement or other type of identifying markers, other than the emergency lights, and had no license plates."

In the first case, the boy approached the residents and told them he was there for a reported domestic disturbance, according to sheriff's officials. However, the homeowner turned him away and "informed him there was no problem." That homeowner later called police.
The next day, a sheriff's sergeant spotted an Explorer matching the description from the homeowner. After pulling the driver over, he confirmed it was indeed the same vehicle used in the Monday incident, the sheriff's department said.

"The 14-year old great-grandson of the registered owner was detained and later identified as the suspect," officials said. "During a search of the juvenileās home, Detectives found the uniform worn during the incident, as well as a large amount of counterfeit money, simulation firearms, ballistic vests and other law enforcement related items."
Police said it was during their investigation that they learned the boy had two other contacts with people on Monday.
"He initiated a traffic stop on a red vehicle, driven by a black female adult, in the area of Amethyst Road," sheriff's officials said. "After obtaining the femaleās information he gave her a warning and let her go."
Later that night, the boy again turned on the emergency lights mounted to the SUV getting the attention of a 16-year-old boy in a local neighborhood, on Colbalt Road.
"The suspect again claimed to be investigating a domestic disturbance call," according to the sheriff's department. "When he was told, there was no disturbance, the suspect left."
However, sheriff's officials are still trying to find the other two alleged victims in the case.
"If you have information about the female in the red car or the juvenile from the Cobalt Road incident, you are urged to call the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911 or Sheriffās Dispatch at (760) 956-5001."
As for the teen ā who is already on probation ā he was taken to the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center, according to officials.
