Boys & Girls Club Focuses On Flag Football, Importance Of Teamwork In San Gorgonio
The Pass Area Boys & Girls Club's first free Flag Football season brought much-needed interaction and activity for area youth.

BANNING, CA — The Pass-area Boys & Girls Club took a look back at the introduction of its Flag Football League for the community's children. In 2026, the group offered more opportunities for area youth to play, grow and be part of a team.
Flag football is surging throughout Riverside County. In the 2026 season, the Boys & Girls Club Flag Football League has brought much-needed interaction and activity for area youth. There is no cost, and the payoff is huge for both kids and families in the area.

"This season, our Flag Football League has become so much more than just a place to play," a spokesperson for the group shared. "For many of the youth we serve, this program is their only opportunity to participate in organized sports.

"By offering this league at no cost, we are removing barriers and ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to be part of a team, learn the game, and experience the joy of competition," they said.
During the season, players have learned to work together and play Flag Football.

"Throughout the season, we've watched our players grow in confidence, develop teamwork skills, and form meaningful friendships," they said. "They are learning discipline, perseverance, and what it means to support one another both on and off the field. For some, it's their first time wearing a jersey, being cheered on, and feeling like they truly belong."
Community support has been essential in maintaining the youth league, according to organizers.
"Because of support from our community, we are able to continue creating opportunities like this where every child has a place to play, grow, and succeed," they said. "Together, we are building more than athletes. We are building confident, capable young people ready to take on whatever comes next. "
