He flew like the Eagle he was!

An American icon has left us.

The Eagle has left us.

Those of us who were around and old enough at the time to remember, all remember where we were on July 20, 1969 when Neil Armstrong became the first man, an American who made us all so proud to be Americans, to walk on the Moon. My buddies, including Sol Reisin, now Dr. Sol Reisin who is my dad's doctor, went bowling that night in El Centro, between the landing and Armstrong's walk, and we went back to my mom's home in the earling morning hours to watch the walk.

This is one of those days we will always remember, and one of those kind of days we only remember for wonderful reasons.

Armstrong was also one of the most noble USC Trojans of them all. He made us all so proud to be Americans that day and now he is gone, but never, never forgotten.

He was an American icon who earned it, deserved it and never tried to exploit it.
