I have POOP on my hands!

Mommyhood Monologues at their best!

"I have poop on my hands" is something I never actually imagined myself saying out loud, but in fact the phrase comes out of my mouth quite often these days! Today I even thought for a moment I might have had poop on my face, but I didn't say that one out loud! Who would have known this would be my life? I am actually shaking my head as I type just thinking about it.

20 weeks ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. William Pierre (Billy) was 8lbs/4oz and 20.5in long and his head actually measured the same width as his chest. Little did I know that 8 weeks later he would steal my heart and make me melt with one little half smile. Yes, you read that correctly, 8 weeks later. Although I thought he was the sweetest, cutest, most precious thing I had ever laid my eyes on, I don't know if I was head over heels in love at first sight or even within the first 7 weeks. Instead it was a surreal experience in which I wondered daily, especially in those coma-like state of mind experiences, where his real mom was and when she was going to show up and take him home. (Thankfully, I have talked to lots of other first-time mamas that felt the same way so I am not totally nuts. I have been told the love is immediate with the second child because you are a bit more prepared for the madness and it's more real!)

Now that the exhaustion/comatose stage is starting to fade away into just plain dead tired, I figured it is time to start documenting the chaos that is my life with my baby buggy, Billy. (The grandparents will love me and I will get BIG daughter and daughter-in-law points!!) Hope you enjoy, laugh a little (or a lot, some of the things I find myself doing are totally ridiculous), and most likely and importantly be glad it's me experiencing the craziness and not you! (And if you are in my shoes, let's exchange numbers and start a coffee group!)
