Small Town Ethics Banning-Beaumont

Why do the same people remain on the Beaumont Chamber? During a recent community event where the beloved Brian DeForg was recognized for his community involvement, the changing of the guard occurred within the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. I watched to see what new faces would grace the new 2013 Chamber and noticed that there were no new faces. Just a case of rotating the same people into there new positions. Further more, is it a coincidence that our Mayor and the winner of Citizen-of-the-Year grew up together? Is it a coincidence that the Citizen-of-the-Year was also the Mayor of Beaumont? The chatter heard from some tables was that Banning Chamber is better? I wonder if this was the reason they were placed in the extreme far side of the room and did not receive a better seating gesture. While I will never reveal my identity, I have considered running for a local office seat. I did not grow up here and do not have the last name DeForg, Berg, or Valdivia. Does this mean I do not have the ability to contribute to this great town of ours? I will be watching you City of Beaumont and speaking what so many want to say but fear to say it alound.
