Cabazon Sheriff's Office Delivers Toys to Local Youth in Transition Home
The sheriff's department received a donation of "a large number" of toys from the local Arrowhead plant.
The following is a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
On Dec. 22, a large number of toys were donated to the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station by the Arrowhead/Nestle Water Company.
Cabazon Station personnel identified needy children residing at the House of Decision, a transition home, in the Banning/Beaumont Pass Area. Deputy Greenwalt obtained the names of the children in advance and ensured the gifts were matched accordingly. Since the donated gifts were not wrapped, Cabazon Staff, including Deputy David Greenwalt, Office Assistant Charles Brogdon, Office Assistant Judy Reckard, and Senior Accountant Lois Carter, wrapped each of the gifts.

The staff was met with smiles and exchanged hugs with children.
Deputies Michael Williams, Jacob Jenson and Constantine Ghilici took twelve gifts each to hand out randomly to children they come into contact with during their shift in the Cabazon Station patrol area. Deputy Greenwalt contacted specific families in the Cabazon area to give away additional gifts to families in need.
