Ida Bird: 1890s Trailblazer in Banning Presented by the Historical Society

Event Details
Back in 1890, Ida Bird was sick and seen as desperately frail and fragile, her husband sent her and their four small children from big-city Chicago to very-tiny Banning, hoping she might recover.
“Frail.” “Fragile.” Struggling to breathe. She stood alone with four small kids, on the edge of wilderness. And as an 1890s woman she lacked rights. No right to vote, to own property, to lead.
She changed the world anyway.
Explore her story on Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m., at the next San Gorgonio Pass Historical Society meeting. Location: Beaumont Woman’s Club Community Center, 306 E. 6th St., Beaumont.
It’s free, and all are welcome!
