Hotel Beaumont was built in 1887 by investors keen on attracting land buyers to what would later become the city of Beaumont. The imposing three-story Victorian-style beauty—quite by itself and in the middle of “nowhere”—was created with ambitious dreams for financial success. Where was it? What happened to it? On Thursday, March 12, 6:30 p.m., the San Gorgonio Pass Historical Society will explore the history of this grandiose structure and its dashed promises.
The program is free and open to all. Location: Beaumont Woman’s Club Community Center, 306 E. 6th Street, Beaumont, For more information about historical society events, visit sgphs.org or the San Gorgonio Pass Historical Society Facebook page.
