Car Strikes Tree In Banning, Injuring One Person: RivCo Cal Fire

Officials raced to the scene at I-10 and Highland Avenue late Monday to assist an injured person trapped inside a vehicle.

BANNING, CA — A vehicle struck a tree, injuring one person near the freeway on-ramp in Banning, Monday evening.

Shortly after 7:15 p.m., firefighters responded to the westbound Interstate-10 on-ramp east of Highland Springs Avenue, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire officials said the first-arriving engine company reported a single-vehicle collision in which a vehicle struck a tree, causing moderate damage and trapping at least one occupant.

Firefighters managed to free the person from the crash, fire officials confirmed. They were then taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
