Cherry Valley Breast Cancer Survivor 'Celebrates Life' at Loma Linda University Cancer Center Event
About 150 people, including cancer survivors, family members and supporters attended the event Sunday at Loma Linda University Cancer Center, a spokesman said.

A breast cancer survivor from Cherry Valley joined the 21st annual Celebration of Life at Loma Linda University Cancer Center on Sunday June 3, a university spokesman said Tuesday.
About 150 people, including cancer survivors, family members and supporters attended the event, Herbert Atienza of Loma Linda University said in a statement.
Heather Scriven, 32, of Cherry Valley, came with her husband, Darrell, their four children, and other family members, Atienza said.

She shared her story of being diagnosed and treated for breast cancer while pregnant with her son, Chase, who is now 5 months old.
"Just because you have been diagnosed with cancer doesn't mean it's the end," Scriven said. "There's always hope; the important thing is to keep positive."

The event, "Celebration of Life: Keys to Healing," was held to mark National Cancer Survivors Day.
