City Of Beaumont's Payroll Exceeded $26 Million In 2025, State Records Show

BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont spent more than $26 million on city employee wages in 2025, though information about Banning is not available, according to a report released Tuesday by the California State Controller's Office.

The annual report is released to enhance government transparency and provide a single, publicly accessible statewide database.

It is required that California cities submit a compensation report to the State Controller's Office by April 30, which the city of Banning failed to do, according to the state.

According to the report, $26,756,939 in wages were paid out in Beaumont last year, with the 10 highest earning officials paid between $300,965 and $229,166:

The number of city employees on the payroll in 2025 stood at 310, with the average wage at $86,313, according to the report.

Amounts documented by the controller's office include base pay, overtime and lump sum disbursals, which are often tied to banked vacation and sick leave time that went unused, sometimes for years, then cashed out. The full data is available at publicpay.ca.gov.

Beaumont city council members are compensated but are not classified as city employees. According to the state controller's report, the council members' pay was $19,200 in 2025.
