Crash Shuts Down Westbound 91 Freeway: Riverside County
Five people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Two people freed from the wreckage of their vehicle Saturday morning were critically injured in a multi-vehicle traffic crash on the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway in Riverside.
The first engine company arrived at the scene just east of La Sierra Avenue at 1:10 a.m. and found several vehicles blocking the freeway with a total of five patients, including one who was trapped, according to Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff DeLaurie.
Firefighters removed the trapped person and another victim from the vehicle and took them to a hospital in critical condition, DeLaurie said.

Three other patients were treated and taken to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries, he said.
The crash forced the closure of the westbound Riverside Freeway.
