Donation to National Animal Nonprofit Paves Way for Free Palm Springs Pet Adoptions
From "Black Friday" through "Cyber Monday," adoption fees will be waived by Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

PALM SPRINGS, CA - Adoption fees at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter will be waived through the holiday weekend, thanks to a pledge from online retailer Zappos.com to donate $1.25 million to the national nonprofit Best Friends Animal Society.
From "Black Friday" through "Cyber Monday," adoption fees will be waived by Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, along with more than 115 other shelters, rescues and humane organizations across the country.
Organizers hope to have 9,000 dogs and cats adopted during the "Home for the Pawlidayz" promotion, signifying the 9,000 animals euthanized each year.

"We are thrilled to be participating in the Pawlidays adoption special," said Stephen Boyd, president of Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. "As the Coachella Valley's only public open-admissions animal shelter operating under a no-kill philosophy, we encourage everyone in our community to adopt, not shop, for their animal companions. Adopting saves lives. It's that simple."
The Palm Springs Animal Shelter is located at 4575 Mesquite Ave. and will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the Pawlidayz event.
