EF High School Exchange Year

Memories to last a lifetime!

My name is Jamie Thorn and I'm the local International Exchange Coordinator for EF High School Exchange Year. We are a non-profit that brings over 3000 High School students from countries like Norway, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, Thailand, and several others to the United States each year. I started this job because of my love of cultural exchange which came from living in several European countries. Thinking back on the memories that were made and the experiences that were had, I wouldn't trade them for anything. I have friendships that will last a lifetime. I was able to learn a new language and a new way of living. I was able to see that despite our differences in culture we, as people, are very much the same.
Have you traveled outside of the United States? What are some of your fondest memories? Was it taking in the sights and sounds or maybe even the food? What did you appreciate about a different culture? Did they live at a different pace? Would you like to fulfill a students dream of living and learning in the United States? Our students have all been chosen for their high academics, fluency in english, and their passion and determination to study abroad.
I would love to talk to you about our students and what it means to be a host family. As your IEC I will be with you every step of the way! You can email me directly at jamie.thorn@efexchangeyear.org.
Bring the world to California!
